Shunt-fed Tower: 130' Rohn 25 w/ Hygain 205CA.
This is the main vertical antenna at the station, with an electrical length of ~ 135 degrees.
Here in Alaska, we often have aurora to contend with, and over the years we have observed that a low angle radiator is not the best choice on 160m. Dan - KL7Y (sk) and I made many observations on this band, and found that a higher angle takeoff yielded much better results for most paths. Mainy this antenna seems to play well to the south out over the Pacific, however over the North pole, and to the east coast a high angle antennas usually seems to be much better.
