Disapointment Creek is no big secret. All it takes is some
determination and alot of fuel. Most fisherman who fish the Talkeetna
know where Disapointment Creek is. We accessed the ridge above
Disapointment by riding up the Talkeetna, taking the Intertie
Powerline north to the ridge above Heart Lake and dead reckoned
east to the Disapointment Creek area. Our plan was to run north
from Disapointment as far as we could. Unfortunately we had to
abort due to a huge drainage flowing into Disapointment that we
couldn't cross. We had an awesome ride down from here to Upper
Heart Lake, the powder in the area just below treeline was incredible
and we entertained ourselves with alot of terrain riding. We managed
to set off our first and only avalanche this winter above Upper
Heart Lake right at tree line. It was a really slow slough and
quite boring.(thank God).
