Pub and Grill

The West Rib Pub opened in May 1997. The name commemorates the difficult Western Rib route up Mt McKinley's Southern Face. The pub celebrates and remembers the four members of the party that made the 1st Ascent on June 19, 1959.   Pete Sinclair, Barry Corbet, Jake Breitenbach and Bill Buckingham summited on a clear day nearly 40 years ago. With an average age of just 23, and little big mountain experience, the party completed what is considered, even today, one of the most difficult routes up North America's highest peak..
