Anchorage Chess Club (TWCC)
Title Wave is in the same shopping center as REI!!.
This shopping center is bounded by Benson to the south, Minnesota Drive
to the west, Spenard to the east, and Northern Lights on the north [where the parking area is].
Entering the main doors, go straight ahead to the Information Desk. They will be happy to
direct you to where we are!
The ACC meets every Friday (unless announced otherwise) from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Title Wave Used Books in Anchorage, Alaska.
BRING YOUR OWN CHESS SET!!
Our second meeting of October was well attended and we had ten players in our fun-play tournament.
Top-ranked Mike took clear first winning all six games.
Clear second [5-1] was taken by the rapidly improving Gary. The more experienced players were lumped in a group scoring only 3 points.
Our first meeting of October was well attended with our tournament attracting eight players.
Jim won the event 6-0.
Our next ACC Funplay event is set for this Friday: This event, starting at
6:50 P.M. and finishing within two hours, use a three-round swiss format at G/10 where opponents
from each round play two games with each other, once as White, the other as Black.
Use of this format enables all to play six games with a chance for immediate revenge if one
lost his first game of the round.
Format Change as of now: Assuming enough players are present, the top four rated players
will probably play in a double round-robin and everyone else plays in the usual swiss format.
