UPDATE :October 23, 2005: The 2005/2006 season is off to a great start - since September I have logged about  75 EU, but no new ones yet!
Working a new one is becoming more of a rare event - but I don't mind working the same EU each night I hear them, thanks for pulling me out of the noise!

    Welcome!
Dedicated to the 160 meter Amateur radio band

Thanks for stopping by - I will be putting more links on the site - all of interest to the 160 enthusiast.

What is Topband?
Topband is just another name for the 160 meter band, it is the only amateur band that is in the medium wave spectrum - the frequency range is 1800 KHz - 2000 KHz, located just above the A.M. broadcast band.

Is there dx on Topband?

You bet! Working a new DX station is a real thrill - but you usually have to invest time, and patience on the band to work dx - plan on getting up at unusual times in order to "snag" that new country. 160 propagation very hard to predict , there are many factors which affect this band much more than say 80m or 40m. There are many stations worldwide that have 160 DXCC, 160 WAZ, 160 WAS, 160 WAC, as well as many other awards - you can check out the "stats"  Who's Who on TOPBAND
