Worship Task Group Issues April 22, 2007
The worship task
group met on Sunday 4/22/07 at 11:45. Discussion revolved around ways to more
involve the youth in the worship program at ORLC. Members present were Ingrid
Roelfs, Chuck Semmler, Carol Shearer, Jaye Keener and John Kehr Jr. Absent were Matt Mills, Lydia Wirkus, and Johnny Jarnagin.
Members present again discussed ways to more involve the youth of ORLC in the
worship process.
Carol Shearer reported on her conversation with Sigrun Franzen concerning the
possibility of beginning a youth choir. Sigrun is willing to pursue this idea
in the fall with the proviso that members would be no younger than those in 2nd
grade nor older than 6th graders. It was agreed to
present this idea to the entire planning committee on 5/19 for presentation to
the church council.
Discussion was also held regarding children's messages and Youth Sundays. John
Kehr presented Matt Mill's concerns about incorporating a children's message
into the worship program. Members present agreed to also present these ideas to
the planning committee on 5/19.
Some discussion of the comments from the congregational survey regarding
communion practices, length of sermons and other concerns. It was agreed that
dealing with these concerns really should be addressed by the elders and
Pastor.
No future meetings were scheduled.
Meeting adjourned at approximately 12:20 with the Lord's Prayer.
In His love and service,
John Kehr Jr
