Eurasiers

Eurasiers are a spitz type dog. They were selectively bred in Germany during the latter half of the last century from Keeshunds, Chow-chows and Samoyeds to achieve an intelligent, affectionate, healthy dog that is well adapted to the northern expanses of Europe and Asia. Their coats are double layered, soft, and come in a variety of colors and combinations, from buff to black. They can have entirely blue or spotted tongues, and dark almond shaped eyes. These dogs require no surgical interventions to meet standards.
Eurasiers are first and foremost family dogs that are loyal and protective to their families. Two special characteristics common to Eurasiers are their reluctance to bark and their almost non-existant smell. They require minimal grooming and cleaning, but since their coats are double-layered they do shed (or "blow their coats") about twice annually. Eurasiers are intelligent and sensitive dogs, easily trained with gentle methods. They should be included in the household, not kept in kennels, and treated as a member of the family. They are playful and often mischievous puppies but generally mature into somewhat reserved adults around strangers.
